Description
The Lineman Apprentice performs new construction and maintenance work on overhead and underground distribution under the supervision of a Journeyman Lineman.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Follow instructions provide by crew foreman pertaining to constructing and maintaining distribution line, both overhead and underground
- Maintain tools and equipment along with keeping trucks properly stocked
- Drive, maintain and properly position equipment as needed per job requirement
- Able to perform routine installations with minimal supervision
- Be available at all hours when scheduled for on-call service
- Other duties assigned
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience as a lineman helper and/or completion of a 1-year line school program – Preferred
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Valid Driver License with acceptable driving record
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Able to perform manual labor under variety of weather conditions including night working when required
